The core training of Yiquan is Zhan Zhuang, a form of exercise that combines martial arts with traditional Chinese health regimen. Coupled with other relative exercises, Zhan Zhuang allows us to explore the transition between the absence and the beginning of movement, the point at which the body, by a series of gentle movements, gradually warms up and starts to see the irruption of explosive energy contained inside. It strengthens the body as well as the mind. This course will be an introduction to the basic theories and exercises of Yiquan.

Wing Chun is characterized by launching attacks at the front and shifting the force of opponents to other places. Practitioners should aim at responding to attacks by promptness and mature skills, but not by sheer muscular strength. There are three sets of classical training routines in Wing Chun- tao lu (套路), as we call it in Chinese : Shiu Nim Tau, Chum Kiu and Biu Ji. Beginners will start by learning the movements of the upper body when practicing Shiu Nim Tau, and then gradually adapt to the movements of the lower body when doing Chum Kiu and Biu Ji. The regular exercise of Chi Sau and the wooden dummy are crucial, as they enhance the power of the elbow, which is the essence of Wing Chun, and the coordination of the whole body by tracing linear or triangular steps when attacking.

Chinese Wrestling traces its origin to Shanpuying, the renowned camp of royal wrestlers in the Qing Dynasty. Under the reign of the Qing Empire, the royal family deemed the unique arts of wrestling taught by Shanpuying to be the most effective form of martial arts destined for self-defense. Only elected royal members could have the honor of acquiring their skills. The strand of Shanpuying wrestling taught by our school combines the art of wrestling with a range of unique combat techniques, including various locking techniques. The course offered by our school is dedicated to beginners and long-term practitioners of Kungfu who wish to improve their skills.
